The AUSTIN
TRAIL OF LIGHTS is Austin’s largest holiday tradition and 2nd largest
event. Run by the Trail of Lights Foundation, the annual event in Zilker Park
celebrates the unique spirit and people that make Austin the place we love to
call home. Bring friends, families and neighbors out to enjoy more
than 40 displays, 2 million lights, Austin’s favorite food trucks, nightly
entertainment and holiday activities sure to create treasured memories.
TRAIL OF LIGHTS ADMISSION PASSES
GENERAL ADMISSION
PASS:
A gate fee is required
for General Admission guests ages 12 and older on December 15th.
- Plan ahead and
purchase a "General Admission" ticket in advance for faster
event access thru the “PREPAID” entry gate at the Trail, as opposed to waiting
in the general public gate admission fee lanes at the Trail of Lights Barton
Springs Road pedestrian entrance. General Admission event access is from
7pm-10pm.
** If you purchase a ZiP
Fast Pass, Shuttle Pass, or Platinum ticket, those options already include
admission and the additional $3 GA gate fee / GA ticket is not required.
ZiP FAST PASS:
Avoid the
lines and avoid the biggest crowds with a ZiP Fast Pass which
includes:
- early event entry
and Trail access thru an exclusive gate at 6pm, one hour before the general
public
- access to the ZiP
Lounge in Zilker Village where you'll find seating, flushable restrooms, and an
adjacent bar (alcoholic drink purchases are separate)
- complimentary
cookies and cocoa
ZiP Fast Passes are
sold individually, with limited quantities are available. Purchase
required for guests 6 and up. Children 5 and under are complimentary with a paid
ZiP adult. ZiP hours are 6pm-10pm.
PLATINUM PASS:
Experience the Trail of Lights in luxury! Your Platinum pass purchase comes with concierge service from start to finish. Our Platinum team will work to make your experience at the Trail memorable and the planning truly hands-off. All you do is pick the night you and your group would to come!
Platinum guests will access the Trail through an exclusive Platinum gate entrance. Platinum doors will open at 6:00 pm, one hour before the Trail opens to the general public. The Platinum program is presented by Kendra Scott and the full Platinum package also includes:
- one valet parking pass for one vehicle, parking opens at 5:30pm
- Platinum concierge planning before and our Platinum team to guide you at the event
- Access to the park at 6:00pm through a private, dedicated entry
- Access to a private, heated Platinum Lounge with comfortable seating and exclusive bar
- One drink ticket valid at bars throughout the park per Platinum Pass
- One ride pass for exclusive entry to Ferris wheel or carousel per Platinum Pass
- Access to the Zilker Lounge where you'll find complimentary cookies and cocoa, comfortable seating, and heated washrooms
Platinum passes are available individually, as a 2-pack, or a 4-pack. Limited quantities are available. Purchase required for guests 6 and up. Children 5 and under are complimentary with a paid Platinum adult. Platinum hours are 6pm-10pm. Drink & Ride tickets only issued to paid ticket holders, and are not issued to complimentary Platinum children, however you may share your coupons with other guests in your party as you wish!
TRANSPORTATION ~ PARKING & SHUTTLES
PARKING:
If you plan to drive to Trail of Lights and park at Zilker Park, you must purchase
a PARKING pass. With the exception of a Platinum pass, parking is not included
with any ticket option.

Parking is available in advance online. No parking will be sold on site.

Parking is located nearby to Zilker Park and opens at 5:30pm.
- ADA
parking is available. To access ADA parking, you must present your purchased
parking pass and appropriate ADA placard or plates. The person to whom the
placards belongs must be present in the vehicle.
- Parking will sell
out in advance, so purchase today!
SHUTTLES:
Avoid driving to Zilker Park all together and help keep Austin green, by
purchasing a Shuttle pass from the Toney Burger Activity Center in South
Austin or Republic Square Park in Downtown.
- A
Shuttle pass will also allow general admission to the Trail of Lights, and
entry privileges via the "Prepaid" expedited lanes at the main
Trail of Lights Barton Springs Road pedestrian entrance starting at 7pm.
- The
shuttle is ADA accessible, and fold-down strollers are permitted. Small
toddlers and lap children ride free. Additional parking costs may apply per
posted lots/businesses/street meters adjacent to the shuttle
locations. Shuttle tickets include Trail of Lights General Admission
entry only.
- A
separate Platinum or ZiP ticket is required for that level of event
admission/access if desired.

Shuttles run between 5:30pm and 8:30pm at both locations - with the last return
shuttle leaving Zilker Park at 10:30pm.
If you have a
special promotional access code or password, enter it in the "promotional
code" box on the right, and click apply. Once the code is
accepted, the box turns green and the page will refresh and reveal your special
offer. Then enter the desired amount of tickets next to the special offer,
and follow the prompts to complete the transaction.

This ticket grants a revocable license to the bearer and may be removed at any
time for any reason. The resale or attempted resale of this ticket at a price
higher than that appearing heron is grounds for seizure and cancellation
without compensation. The holder assumes all risk or danger incidental to the
attraction whether occurring prior to, during, or subsequent to, the
attraction. Rain policy: Tickets for outdoor events are purchased at risk of
inclement weather. This ticket will not be replaced, refunded, or exchanged for
any reason. Shipping and handling and service charges are non-refundable, even
if event cancels.
